Super-star Brent Lloyd is one of the coaches for the junior-class Powder Puff Football team. He has a lot of knowledge of the game, being a fan of both College and Professional football. He is a Diehard member of the Raider nation. This Football team is comprised completely of junior girls that will compete against the other classes. Their first match up is against the vicious sophomores. He hopes to win but to also, “have a lot of fun out there doing it.” When asked why he took the position as a coach, he just thought it would be a good opportunity for fun. Also, the other thought that ran through his mind is that it would be, “funny to watch the chicks give it a shot for once.”
When questioned if he was going to prevail over the seniors, if and when he defeats the sophomores, his reply was a loud, “TEAM DOMINATION!” The junior girls follow this as their team motto. Brent has noticed many similarities and difference between the boys’ football team, which he participates on, and the girls’ powder puff team. The most differential aspect between the two from Brent’s point of view is that the guys have an easier time understanding the game than the girls do. “The guys just ‘get’ it, whereas the girls are just confused a lot of the time.” The girls seem to be more polite and caring towards one another whereas the guys are not. The male football team are just an army of drowns that do as they are told. This is most likely the reason why guys just, “get it.” The girls most likely overanalyze the situation too thoroughly and confuse themselves, whereas the guys just love to beat each other up.
Brent was asked how he feels to be a coach just like those that he has been mentored under before. “It feels weird,” he says, “I sort of try to stay in line with what my coaches do.” He was not astonished to find out that both the girls and the guys have the same goal; both sexes want to win the title and glory. “They both work as a team and seem to get a long together,” Brent observed while both coaching and playing. The first game is going to be in a few weeks, and the girls are all pumped up, anxiously waiting to face off against the sophomores. In his last remarks, Brent stated that, “they get really pumped, almost more than we (boys’ football) do to beat the other teams.” It should an interesting experience for both the girls as players and the boys as coaches.
