In the past month we had Red Ribbon week, where we learned that “Drug use is Life Abuse.” We had lunchtime activities where students were able to wear goggles that when you looked through them they made you feel as if you were drunk, and walk through an obstacle course. We also had a “BYOB” days where all students could either bring or buy and banana and make a banana split. December first was the Holiday Dance and it was a hit. The kids danced in the cafeteria where ASB had blacked out the entire place. The dance had a great turn out of students. ASB sure does know how to have fun! Coming up on December eighth is the annual Powder Puff football game. This is when freshman, seniors, juniors and sophomores girls get to battle it out on the football field. Practice has been going on during previous weeks and it will be fun to see how all the girls perform on game day. December eleventh through the fifteenth ASB will be having International Week.
December fourteenth there will be a band concert during lunch. December twenty-first is the last day of school before our winter break that will last until the seventh of January. On January fifteenth there will be no school for students and on the eighteenth ASB will be selling everyone’s matchmaker cards on the outdoor stage. The matchmaker cards will be sold for a dollar and will also tell you whom your most compatible friends and love interests are. January twenty-third through the twenty-fifth marks the week of finals and on January twenty-sixth there again will be no school for the students. January twenty-ninth will be the second Senior Munch for Foothill High School’s senior class of 07’. This year, the first Senior Munch was held at the Grove in Orange on Halloween. Here the students were feed and entertained but a hypnotist that hypnotized fellow peers. The first Senior Munch was a hit and I am sure that the second will be just as much fun! February fifth through the ninth will be the Winter Formal spirit week.
During these spirit weeks, everyday is a new theme and the students dress up and participate in having school spirit. Also during spirit week at lunch, there are activities for students to be apart of as well as music that is provided by ASB. On February ninth ASB will host the Winter Formal assembly and on February tenth will be the Winter Formal Dance. In the upcoming months Foothill’s ASB will be very busy hosting all of these fun events for the students.
