Picking up a basketball at the age of five and falling in love with the sport Madison McKenney number eleven has now been playing for nine years, she started playing basketball games in the third grade. With an outstanding attitude and a humorous personality this is her first year playing for Foothill high school, she is the only freshman to make varsity basketball for the 2006-2007 season. Madi is most influenced by Sarah Brown, “She influences me the most because she has made it all the way to
college basketball.” Talking to her about basketball you could see the love for the sport as she talked about it. “Being on varsity this year is hard, exciting, and scary.” Her words of advice for any player who is working their way up to varsity, “learn to love running, also be coach-able and work you butt off.”
Standing at only five-foot-four she is the one of the youngest and newest guards on the team. He hopes to become a starter with a lot of hard work and effort she can accomplish her goal. She has great basketball skills and uses them to her full potential. The Knights, doing so well last year, winning league and moving up a division level, will have to work hard and prepare for the tough games ahead. Playing rivals like Woodbridge this season, which we beat last year to win league, and Northwood. With the our rivals in our league it may be tough to keep up but with returnees Blair Shinoda and Christina Marinacci and new comers like Madison should do just fine in league.
