Last week, I had the fabulous opportunity to interview German Foreign Exchange Student, Vuesal Hasanzade. Vuesal is a seventeen year old teen from the heart of Germany. He arrived to America in mid-November and is due to leave in late June. Here’s an inside look at Vuesal:
What do you do in your free time in Germany?
I like to go out at night, hang out with friends, listen to music, and drink (*Drinking Age in Germany is 16*)
What are some of your favorite sports or hobbies?
I do Thai boxing and kick boxing and also play soccer and track. I am also interested in photography, music, and love to travel.
What is your favorite German Food? American Food?
My favorite German food is Wiener Schnitzel (hot dog). My favorite American foods are pizza and donuts.
Do you have any Siblings?
Yes, I have one younger brother who is 13 years old.
What is the biggest difference between America and Germany?
The drinking age, at home you can drink at the age of 16. Sports are also not as big a deal at home but soccer is one of the more famous sports.
How is Foothill compared to your regular school?
My school in Germany is harder; we have 13 classes that are 45 minutes long.
What do you miss the most?
I miss my girlfriend, family, friends, beer, and hookah.
One thing you would like to achieve before you leave America?
Well, I already have tickets to go bungee jumping on my birthday but I would also like to go skydiving before I leave.
