We all remember the days of our childhood and when we would take trips to the near by playground. On those playgrounds was everything we used to dream of: monkey bars, twisted slides, the tire swings, but with those came along the playground bully. They always seemed to look the same; they were the biggest, oldest kids there. And you knew when they were coming up from behind you because they cast a shadow over your tiny, helpless body. From there, you were done for; they pushed you to the ground and kept knocking you down every time you tried to get up. They would tell you that your ears looked funny or called you four eyes just because you wore glasses. Being the smaller one you could not defend yourself; you just took the harassment and hoped for it to be over quickly. There are some cases were, eventually, the other kids help gang up on the bully, you know, teach them a lesson for all the times they were shoved into the mulch. Like I said, those were rare times and most just kept their distance because they didn’t want to become the next victim. You have to wonder how the kids, the bullies, became that way. I blame the parents for not teaching their kids to have manners or discipline. I also blame the parents whose kids weren’t the victims, but they saw some other child get abused because being the adult, they should have stopped the bullying and told both of the parents what was going on with their kids, instead of just sitting their pretending nothings happening. Those days were long ago, but yet bullying is still happening. Maybe next time you see some kid being picked on for their flaws, step in and try to help them out, you might make a difference in their day or week.
So how many of you have been bullied by the Playground Monster?
Have any of you seen bullying occur and stopped it…or just pretend that you didn’t see anything?
Lets Here it.
